Netbooks are ultra low power/small laptops with minimal hardware specs. Their focus is being light, long battery, and basic functionality. Playing GW on one would most likely be very unpleasant if even possible, due to the fact that they are stuck at 1gb of ram max, because that is all XP can now be sold on (dont bother with vista on one-expensive and slow.). Also, it will be a single core <1.5ghz processor incapable of handling any decent resolution. As far as video hardware goes...nope. It will be super low-power 2-d focused hardware. Anything you do will be offloaded to the gimpy processor. Basically, dont get your hopes up that you will get past the loading screen, if even that far. I doubt even the nicest netbook will get over 10fps out of towns.

Netbooks are for email, lolcats, and youtube. No, seriously.

Also, netbooks tend to have tiny screens (8-9 inches) - so even if they could play Guild Wars (and they can't) the image would be small enough to give you eyestrain.

from what i've heard, they CAN play gw, though not very well. the tiny resolution actually helps in this cause, since it the intel GMA 950 that comes with them won't have to struggle with anything about 1024x600.
but i do agree with the above: playing GW on a netbook is a waste of time.

Actually, one of my friends is playing GW on a netbook with no problems whatsoever. So it is certainly quite possible. It's not exactly a high requirement game, after all.
They're mostly for internet and email and that sort of thing, though.

For the record, you can have 2gb of RAM. You just have to pay the $17 for it
